How to choose Colors for abstract painting

What is the best way to choose a color palette when doing an abstract painting?

How to make the best color choices for your art?

In the survey where I ask you, "What is your #1 challenge related to canvas painting?"

someone wrote to me: "Arrangement/color choices for abstract art." It's an excellent dilemma and one that often recurs.

People wonder what inspires me. Sources of inspiration are endless: your surroundings, your garden, an image, a store, etc., are all beautiful sources of inspiration.

Today, we all have the vast world of the internet at our disposal. For me, my "go-to" is Pinterest, especially for colors.

I'll share my secret with you:

1. Go to Pinterest. It's free. Create an account if you don't have one already.

2. In the search field, enter a search with the words: color palette.

You can also refine your search by specifying a color, for example: green color palette.

You'll have plenty of options. The displayed color palettes usually consist of 5 different shades that harmonize well together.

I hope I've just replaced a lack of inspiration with an abundance of choices.
